Who Is Reviewing Your Language Translations?_Shanghai Translation Company
It is not uncommon for our clients to have an internal employee review our translations. As a matter of fact we recommend it. We consistently ask our client to have someone review our translations to ensure consistency with their companies brand, style and tone. However you should be cognizant of who is reviewing these translations.
All of E-ging’s translations are done by native speaking, in-country linguists who have at least 10 years’ experience working within the linguistics industry. These individuals are professionals and take great pride in their work. When you ask someone to review our translations it is important they are equally qualified to do so.
Case in point, we have a large client who was relying on a second generation Chinese speaking intern to review our Chinese translations. She was born in the US; her first language was English and she was a high school student. This intern was by no means qualified to review our translations. This issue caused our client to have doubts in our quality and competence.
E-ging’s first step to resolve this issue was to inquire who was reviewing our translations. Once we learned who was reviewing our translations, we asked our client to get a second opinion on the translations from another Chinese speaking employee. When our client asked another employee, who was born in China and Chinese was their first language, to review the translations, the employee stated they were accurate and perfectly acceptable. We then suggested the client have the content reviewed by additional Chinese speakers and the general consensus was our translations were correct.
This is a great example of why it is important to know who is reviewing translations. A poor reviewer may cause subjective issues with your multilingual efforts. Rely on professionals for accurate language translations.
